Get Ready To PowerPlay … and Play Golf’s New 2-Flag Format!

Throughout the summer of 2012, Les Mielles will be hosting 12 PowerPlay events, which is something completely new to golf.

PowerPlay Golf is easy to learn – one game and you’re hooked. It is a 9-hole Stableford, with a twist. There are two flags on every green. Players can choose to play to the 'easy' white flag or the more difficult black flag. You score double points for net birdie or better when playing to the Black Flag (which is called going for a PowerPlay), but with only 3 PowerPlays available in your first 8 holes you must choose your PowerPlays wisely.

You then face decision time on the last tee. Either play it safe to the White Flag (protect your score), or go for a final bonus PowerPlay to the Black Flag, for a potential last-hole points boost – but at the risk of a last-hole points penalty. Players score as per a normal PowerPlay… except they score minus three points on that hole if they score a Net Bogey or worse.

The 12 Les Mielles events are open to anyone with a society or official handicap and will run on various Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons from May to September. There will be a special rate green fee and entry price for members and visitors with cash prizes for each event winner.
