Golf Societies

All Golf Societies utilising the Golf facilities at Les Mielles Golf & Country Club  are requested to provide an updated list of their Players’ Memberships with Les Mielles as of 1st March 2011 to the Admin Team.

Golf Societies registered with Les Mielles Golf & Country Club can book Tee Times under their Society Code.  The booking may be paid for in two ways:

  • If the Green Fees are paid for by one payment then the Society Green Fee rate is applicable.
  • Individual Society Members pay their own Green Fees. In this case a list of the Members playing must be submitted to the Booking Office staff at least 48 hours in advance of the First Tee Time.
All Golf Society bookings must be confirmed by fax or e-mail 48 hours in advance, clearly stating the number of Golfers, Tee Times required, plus any other booking requirements, such as food.

The Society will be held responsible for the payment of all reserved Tee Times booked on behalf of its Members. Therefore, to avoid any unnecessary expense please remember the 48 hour deadline for cancelling slots etc.

Golfing Etiquette

It is the responsibility of all Golfers to repair their pitch marks, replace all divots and rake any bunkers they visit during their round. In so doing every player is improving the playing conditions for all Course users.

For those Members who find themselves retrieving their golf balls out of the ponds please be aware of other Course users around you.  Golf balls may only be retrieved if it does not inconvenience other Golfers or slow down play. It is inconsiderate and unacceptable to spend time trying to retrieve a lost ball, particularly when the Course is busy.

We would like to bring to the attention of all Members the Course Etiquette & Rules which are as follows:
  • Please ensure you keep up with the group in front and not in front of the group behind.
  • Please ensure you are at the Golf    Course at least 10 mins prior to your reserved tee slot.
  • Please ensure that if you or any of your Golfing Partners lose a ball, whilst taking the allotted 5 minutes, the group behind must be called through.
  • If you are playing in a 4 ball group, please let groups of 2 and 3 balls  through whenever possible.
  • Please ensure that you do not trespass on neighbouring property to retrieve your golf ball. The Management have received complaints from the National Trust and neighbours (field to the left of the 6th green and the right  of the 10th fairway) about Golfers trespassing upon their property. These two Landowners have indicated they are willing to prosecute anyone found trespassing. Members involved in such an incident and whose actions come to our attention will find their  Membership seriously jeopardised.

Slow Play - five ways to avoid slow play!

  1. When you get to the green, place  your bag where you will pass it on the way to the next tee - don’t leave  it in front of the green and walk back to pick it up after you have holed out.
  2. When you are on the tee, make a  conscious effort to spot your playing partners’ tee shots as they land - particularly if they are off the fairway.  It is often easier for you to spot a ball as a spectator than it is as a player.
  3. After putting out wait until you reach the next tee to mark your scorecard  - you can do this while your partners  are driving off. Don’t stand around  on the green comparing notes.
  4. Watch the clock - check your rate of progress every two or three holes, and particularly at the turn. If you are  on course for a slow round, make a conscious effort to speed things up.
  5. Be ready to play when it is your turn.  You should be preparing to play your shots while your partners  are playing theirs. Playing quicker doesn’t mean rushing your game - it means being prepared.
It is the duty of any Member disrupted by slow play to report the incident(s) to the Ranger/Starter or a member of Staff in the Club House, so that the matter can be monitored and addressed.

Cancellations

Once a booking has been made, the Member will be liable for that Green Fee.  Cancellations made with at least 48 hrs notice will be 100% refunded.  Cancellations made on the day will only be refunded if the slot is re-sold.

Late Arrivals

Members must pay green fees in full before leaving the Course.

Adverse Weather Policy

  • When the Course is open, but the weather conditions are questionable and a Golfer makes the decision to play a 9 Hole Round of golf, if the weather worsens and the player decides not to continue, no refund will be given.
  • As before, but the Golfer chooses to play an 18 Hole Round; if the Golfer comes off the Course during or at the end of the front 9 holes, a refund of an 18 hole round less the cost of a 9 hole round will be given.
  • As above, but the Golfer chooses to play an 18 hole round but come off the Course during the back 9 holes, no refund will be given.
  • When the Course is closed, no Golfer may play on the Course and all bookings are cancelled. It is then up to the individuals concerned to re-book their Golf Slots.  Refunds in the form of credits to a Member’s Account would only be given to those with pre-paid Golf Slots.

Unpaid Sundries & Green Fee Payments

  • All purchases of sundries or merchandise  MUST be paid for at the time of purchase. No credit will be given.
Member’s must pay for all Green Fees Prior to their Booked Tee Time.
Advanced Green Fee payments may  be made by telephone or via the internet booking system

Members who play but do not pay on the day

Those Members found to have played and left the Course having not paid, on the first occasion will be given a warning with 7 DAYS TO PAY. If payment is still not made the Member concerned will find he/she can only book tee times if payment is made at the time of booking. Those Members having received the warning who then make payment within 7 days will NOT have the benefit of the 7 day warning if they re-offend, but will automatically find that they must also pay at the time of booking. Full Membership privileges will only resume at the beginning of the next subscription year. The Ranger may allow you onto the Golf Course prior to paying, but it is your duty to ensure you and your Guests have paid all Green Fees owed, prior to leaving the Facility. Our computerised booking system records all non payments which will be followed up accordingly.

Slow Play/Yellow Card Policy

The maximum playing times per holes are printed on the scorecard. Any group of Golfers losing one hole or more on the group in front  while playing their round will receive a Yellow Card. This Card will be applied to all Members of the group. If you find your group is losing its position on the Course you must wave the proceeding group through. This way you will not be penalised for slow play.

A Ranger will be ranging the Golf Course during busy periods and will be responsible for monitoring and implementing the Yellow Card Policy.

If you receive a FIRST warning from the Course Ranger you must make up your groups lost time by speeding up play and thus catching up to the group in front on the Golf Course.

If you receive a SECOND warning from the Course Ranger all members of your group will incur a Yellow Card. At the decision of the Ranger you may also be required to pick up your golf ball and proceed to the next tee.

If in the same season a yellow carded Member receives a subsequent Yellow Card then he/she will automatically receive a three month playing time restriction, being only able to play after 2.00pm at weekends. This ban may be re-assessed subject to the offending Member completing a Course Management assessment. If after a further period there is a little or no improvement, the Member will as a last resort lose their Membership and have their subscription fees returned.

It is a Golfers duty to keep behind the Group in front and not in front of the Group behind.

It is the duty of any Member disrupted by slow play to report the incident(s) to the Ranger/Starter or member of Staff in the Club House, so that the matter can be monitored and addressed.

Maximum Playing Time

There is a maximum playing time for anyone playing 18 or 9 Holes of Golf. The maximum playing time for the front nine (South Course) is 2 hours and 13 minutes and the maximum playing time for the back nine (North Course) is 2 hours and 6 minutes. Notice boards are positioned at the 1st and 10th tees detailing the Maximum Playing Times for each 9 Holes, the Slow Play Rules, and, the Penalties that may be incurred.

When playing a full round, any group that have not completed their first nine holes within the permissible playing time, will forfeit their right to continue to the next nine holes i.e. they will only be able to continue at the discretion of the Ranger and when a slot becomes available with no inconvenience to other Golfers.

It is the responsibility of all Golfers to ensure that they are aware of their back nine starting time and this should be verified by the Ranger prior to starting. Any group that exceeds the maximum playing time and are unable to continue on the Course will not be entitled to a refund. In addition, the offending Golfers may receive a Yellow Card.
